What good polishing means

A watch case is rarely one finish. Most combine brushed surfaces with mirror-polished ones, and sharp lines where the two meet. Careless polishing rounds those lines and blurs every surface into one shine.

We work surface by surface: brushed where it was brushed, polished where it was polished, and the lines of the case kept.

What we polish

Cases and bracelets, including links and clasps. Polishing can be done on its own or together with a service.

Before any work begins

Polishing takes away a little metal every time, so it is worth doing well and not too often. Bring the watch in, or send photographs on WhatsApp, and we will tell you plainly what polishing will achieve on your piece and what it will cost. Nothing is started until you agree.

Before and after

One steel watch, polished at our shop in Yateem Centre. Each pair shows the same part before and after.

Bracelet links

Scratches removed and the links refinished to an even brushed surface.

Lug and bevel

The nick on the bevel is gone, and the line between brushed and polished is sharp again.

Bracelet, opposite end

Deep scratches and a gouge on the outer link, polished out.

Clasp

Heavy scratching removed: a mirror-polished centre with brushed sides.

Case back

Scratches cleared from the case back, the underside of the case and the lug ends.

Case flank

The polished flank is mirror-clean, and the marks on the lug are gone.

Crown guard

Nicks beside the crown removed, and the edges of the crown guard crisp again.
